This is for all of the brave critiques out there.
Now, I myself, am not good at critiquing other people's art. I love to look at it, spot details and interesting quirks, but I don't find myself skilled enough to be able to point out flaws that could make it better. I can do that with my own art, but that's simply because, like the old saying goes, "an artist is his/her own worst critique," which means that a good artist will spot countless flaws within their own work that most other people probably wouldn't notice.
Regarding the first part said, I really do admire the people who are able to and do
critique others' work. The reason I say that is because of the ignorance that attacks them.
a difference between critiquing and insulting ladies and gents. Really there is.
Critiquing is used to help
the artist out. They point out mistakes and actually tell
you how to improve. For example:"Her nose and mouth protrude out further than they should, and while the nose is going to stick out further than the forehead, her lips should roughly follow the same line that her forehead lies on."
That is a critique.
This is an insult:"This picture sucks. She looks so stupid. You should really stop drawing."
You see what I'm getting at? Loosen up people. Appreciate
that people are taking the time to help you improve.
Feel free to use, guys.
